Agri-Trekking across Ontario - without leaving the classroom

Local Food Week is June 3 to 9, 2019 in Ontario. To help kids learn more about it, educators of grades four to eight can now register their classroom to play AgScape’s Agri-Trekking Across Ontario, an interactive game developed for Local Food Week.

After registering, teachers will be mailed a free package containing curriculum-linked resources and fun classroom materials to help them engage students in agriculture and food topics.

Participating classes will receive a certificate to recognize their involvement in the Agri-Trekking Across Ontario Challenge that they can display proudly.

“By launching this challenge, we are hoping to create an exciting opportunity during Local Food Week for educators to include agriculture and food into their classroom curriculum, and to have more conversations with their students about topics such as food choices, healthy eating facts, sustainable farming practices and environmental initiatives,” said Glenna Banda, executive director of AgScape.

AgScape’s Agri-Trekking Across Ontario challenge is now accepting registrations. Individual classes, schools, and entire school boards are encouraged to take part in this unique learning opportunity.  For more information and to register, please visit
