Costco executives cut the ribbon on a grand opening of its largest warehouse to date in St. John’s, Newfoundland. The store offers wider aisles and a vast assortment of products, including an expanded produce section.
“With our newly-expanded warehouse, we can bring even more benefits of a Costco membership to St. John’s and, of course, the remaining residents and businesses of Newfoundland and Labrador,” said Pierre Riel, senior vice-president and general manager, Costco Wholesale Eastern Canada. “This warehouse is the largest in Canada and we are very proud to share this new location with our valued members and member businesses in the local community and throughout the area.”
The newest store has 20 checkouts, 1,000 parking spots (300 more than the former St. John’s location) and sells more than 4,000 products. Costco operates 100 warehouses in Canada and employs more than 39,000.
