Fruit Logistica, famed for its exhibitor trade show and programming, is on track for a physical event in Berlin from February 9-11, 2022.

“The desire for personal encounters at a physical event is immense, especially because it hasn’t been possible for so long,” says Kai Mangelberger, acting director of Fruit Logistica. “We know that some companies have hesitated to sign up. But this reticence has continuously decreased because international conference venues, including Berlin, have shown that physical events are possible again. We are very far along in the planning and have sent the placement suggestions to our exhibitors.”

Currently, there are 2,000 exhibitors registered from 68 countries.

Dole, Fyffes, SanLucar and Zespri, among others, will be representing the fresh produce industry. Maersk and Ethihad Cargo will be among the logistics representatives, as well as Edeka for food retail, Sormac and Greefa from machinery and technology, and Euro Pool System from packaging. BioTropic, the Bundesvereinigung der Erzeugerorganisationen Obst und Gemüse (BVEO), Driscoll’s, and Fruit Masters are also confirmed.

According to the website, only persons who present proof of a negative test result, vaccination or recovery from COVID-19 at the entrance to an event may be admitted. The disclaimer is that these admission requirements may change to only vaccinated and recovered depending on applicable regulations in February 2022.
