As part of the Ontario Greenhouse Vegetable Growers’ annual general meeting, the Industry Builder Award was presented to Ken Forth. His years of dedication to the labour file were recognized for their positive impact on the greenhouse industry.

“Ken has profoundly impacted the entire horticulture sector in Ontario and Canada and certainly the greenhouse sector,” says Joe Sbrocchi, general manager, Ontario Greenhouse Vegetable Growers. “For 49 years, Ken has been directly involved with the Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program (SAWP) and labour issues for Canadian growers. Ken represents the industry’s interest both provincially and nationally on everything from NAFTA and SAWP to minimum wage, labour regulations and unionization of agricultural workers.”

Ken Forth is chair of the Ontario Fruit and Vegetable Growers’ Association Labour Section, chair of the Labour Issues Coordinating Committee and chair of Foreign Agricultural Resource Management Services.
