New fungicide for vines, fruits, nuts, vegetables

Adavelt active is a new brand name just announced by Corteva Agriscience (DowDuPont) for a novel fungicide with application to vines, fruits, nuts and vegetables, as well as cereals.

It’s a synthetic, next generation neopicolinamide which complements existing disease control products and has favourable regulatory, toxicological and environmental profiles, according to the company.

Corteva Agriscience says that Adavelt controls a wide range of pathogens including Septoria spp, powdery mildews,Botrytis spp, anthracnose, Alternaria, scab, and Monilinia.  It will offer applications of the fungicide at multiple growth stages for improved efficiency.

The company plans to launch Adavelt in product formulations globally with first registrations for Asia Pacific in 2023, pending applicable regulatory reviews.

Adavelt shares the same mode of action as Inatreq active which will soon be launched in European cereals and banana markets; outside of these markets Adavelt will be a new mode of action for targeted pathogens.
