Leno Mori, 90, an icon in the Canadian nursery business, has agreed that the bare-root fruit tree inventory of Mori Essex Nurseries will be managed and sold by Upper Canada Growers, also based in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario.
“The employees of Mori Essex Nurseries are now working for us as of February 1,” said Robert Haynes, president, Upper Canada Growers. The inventory includes Baileys and Krymsk rootstock for peaches, nectarines and plums as well as Geneva rootstocks for apples.
The company’s news announcement said that a deposit of $2.50/tree is required to secure trees. All future payments should be made to Upper Canada Growers.
