Welcome Becky Dumais

Becky Dumais is the newest team member of The Grower effective May 28, 2018. As editorial assistant, her focus will be on writing and curating newsworthy, sharable content for its readers on its digital platform, Fresh News from the Grower and thegrower.org. She has a range of editorial experience, most recently as a freelance writer for the past two years at FreshPlaza.com, interviewing growers across a broad array of commodities in Canada. Over the course of her career she has been published in many consumer and trade magazines. When not ‘working’ she enjoys experiencing rural events and farmers’ markets. Becky is a journalism graduate from Sheridan College.

 

The Grower is Canada’s premier horticultural publication reaching 12,000 farmers and industry personnel. Published by the Ontario Fruit and Vegetable Growers’ Association, the monthly newspaper offers analysis of trends, coverage of provincial and national horticultural associations as well as technical information. Subjects vary from crop protection, food safety and the environment to labour and safety nets.

The president of Savoura found deceased

The founder of the Savoura greenhouse tomato brand, Stéphane Roy and his 15-year-old son Justin, were found deceased on July 25 after a helicopter crash in northern Quebec.
