According to BC Tree Fruits Cooperative (BCTF), expectations are to market more than 650,000 cartons of Ambrosia apples, up 20 per cent from last year’s weather-challenging season. That’s good news for marketing efforts at the Produce Marketing Association Fresh Summit hosted in Orlando Florida October 19-20. The Oppenheimer Group is the largest marketer of B.C.-grown Ambrosia apples in the U.S.
The re-branding of the Ambrosia apple includes the tag line “Sweet Perfection.”
In addition to apples, the cooperative offers seven other categories of locally grown fruits including cherries, pears, apricots, peaches, plums, nectarines, blueberries and table grapes. Located in B.C’s Okanagan Valley, the cooperative has 430-plus grower member families and state-of-the-art packing lines and storage capabilities.
