The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is modernizing Canada’s Seed Regulations, including seed potatoes. The goal is to improve responsiveness and consistency, reduce complexity, strengthen consumer protection for seed potato program and respond to potential avenues for modernization and improvement.

The Canadian Potato Council/SPSC Seed Potato Regulatory Modernization Working Group is urging all growers and industry partners to participate in the survey before March 15.  These responses will provide guidance on areas to be modernized for the benefit of the potato industry.
