Albrecht Seeger is being recognized by the Niagara North Federation of Agriculture for his 41 years of grape growing in Canada. He will receive the 2019 Niagara Agriculture Lifetime Achievement Award at an event on April 6.
Along with his wife Anja, Seeger cultivates 150 acres of premium vinifera grapes, including the oldest plantings of Riesling and Chardonnay vines in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
He is a two-time winner of the Cuvée Award of Excellence in Viticulture in 2010 and 2018. Seeger, a pillar of the grape growing community, has served as a member of Grape Growers of Ontario’s Growers’ Committee for 25 years.
