The weather can turn on a dime, and hail can hit hard. Frost and freezing temperatures can change everything.

That’s why Production Insurance matters says Rebecca Metzger, senior industry specialist, Agricorp. It’s not just a policy—it’s peace of mind. Coverage acts as a safety net that supports growers when they face the unexpected, such as yield loss, reduced quality, or damaged trees and vines.

Fruit Policy application and renewal season is now open. This includes coverage for:  (click on link)

January 1, 2026 is the deadline to apply for fruit coverage or make changes to existing coverage.

Here’s how to apply or renew coverage:

  • -  New customers: Call 1-888-247-4999 to explore options.
  •
  • -  Existing customers:  Agricorp mails renewal packages in early December. Customers should review their coverage to make sure it still meets their farm business needs.

  •
  • Please note: Agricorp uses 2025 yields to create 2026 renewals for customers. For customers who don’t receive their renewal by late December, it may be because Agricorp doesn’t have final yields, and these customers should contact Agricorp.
  •

Note that Agricorp has updated how fresh Labrusca grape claim prices are determined, to align with how prices are negotiated.

Claim prices are now determined by variety, instead of one price allocated to all grapes. This means, there are now several claim prices for different classes of fresh grapes.

To view claim prices, visit agricorp.com/GrapePrices.
