Mike Mauti, the managing partner of Execulytics Consulting, plans to publish the 2019 Produce Almanac. According to the company’s press release, it includes comprehensive data and commentary on all significant produce commodities. There are five-year cost comparisons, premiums for organics, retail pricing from around the United States plus insights, recommendations and predictions.

Visual recaps compare 2018 weekly FOB costs to 2017 for all key commodities. Costs are derived from USDA and Agriculture Canada archives using a simple calculation to provide a single cost for every week for each commodity shipping from American or Canadian locations. Plus, a special section on organics deep dives the cost premiums relative to alternatives grown using conventional methods. Also included in the Almanac is a retail pricing recap and a complete accounting of all available weekly costs for the last five years.
