The CanAgPlus Board of Directors has published its first strategic plan for the CanadaGAP Program. The five-year plan, which spans the period from 2024-2029, aims to maintain the mission, vision and values of the program, while focusing efforts and resources into six key areas:

I – Program Delivery – The key to achieving our mission

II – Office Operations – Meeting all corporate obligations

III – Talent Management – Supporting our people

IV – Program Content – The ‘nuts and bolts’ of our program

V – Tool Box – Helping to get the job done

VI - Stakeholders – Working collaboratively with those affected by our decisions

“The CanAgPlus Board of Directors is proud to announce this milestone undertaking for the CanadaGAP Program,” states chair of the Board, Scott Wright.

“The plan reaffirms CanadaGAP’s unwavering commitment to food safety while keeping the core values of integrity, rigour, and transparency at the heart of its activities,” he added. “With the new strategic plan in place, we are committed to our foundational mission of providing a science-based program that is accepted by the industry, while following a trajectory to become the food safety certification program of choice for fresh produce operations.”

Within the plan, interested stakeholders will find details on the proposed achievements and major initiatives that will support each of the six focus areas.
