The Canadian Horticultural Council (CHC) has announced a change of plans, moving from an in-person meeting in Ottawa to virtual meetings the week of March 7. 

“The still constantly changing health context has led more adaptations on the part of everyone over the last two years, and has again required us to consider the implications, despite provinces gradually reopening, of holding an in-person event,” says Rebecca Lee, executive director, CHC. “The safety of our members and their workers is our primary concern, and while we had been looking forward to seeing you all this year in person, we have made the decision to proceed with a fully virtual format.”

“We look forward to this opportunity for leaders in fruit and vegetable production, business, and federal government to come together to discuss priority issues and decide on a course of action for addressing these issues in the coming year,” she added.

The Doug Connery Award celebrates leaders who demonstrate exemplary passion, commitment and dedication to advancing the interests of Canada’s horticultural industry.

The Honourary Life Member and Outstanding Achievement awards celebrate individuals who have made significant marks on horticulture. Typically, these are granted based on merit in a particular year.

Recognizing individuals that have demonstrated untiring efforts to improve the field of horticulture within or outside Canada through leadership, innovation, cooperation and hard work. The individual will have shown dedication, long term commitment and an outstanding contribution of time and effort.

Recognizing dedication and service as a member of the Canadian Horticultural Council.
