Food Day Canada celebrations will shine a light on Canadian cuisine from coast to coast says Crystal Mackay, coordinator.

What’s happening? Canadians will come together in person and online to enjoy and celebrate food and share their stories on Food Day Canada/ Journée des terroirs.

When? All day Saturday July 30, 2021 (and the week leading up to it)

Where? Anywhere and everywhere across Canada.  Backyard barbecues, picnics, farmers’ markets, dine in or dine out.  Enjoy Canadian-grown, Canadian-made food and drinks.

Who? Anyone and everyone who loves Canadian ingredients, with gratitude for the people who make it happen.  Chefs, home cooks, farmers, ranchers, fishers, writers, winemakers, brewers, food processors, researchers…and the list goes on.

How to get involved?

-  Enjoy your favourite foods and drinks and share your menus, pictures and stories with #FoodDayCanada and tag @FoodDayCanada to join the party.

-  Take the Food Day Canada pledge to shop, cook and dine like a Canadian on www.fooddaycanada.ca

-  Help shine a light by visiting and sharing pictures of icons such as Niagara Falls being lit red and white in honour of our Canadian cuisine. Look for the map on www.fooddaycanada.ca  Individuals can shine their own lights at 9:00 p.m. for a wave of light from east to west online.
