.
.

The Canadian Potato Council looks forward to Gary Stordy joining the organization as of April 1, 2023. He spent 15 years working for Canadian pork producers as director of government and corporate affairs where he led communications efforts, agriculture policy and served as national spokesperson for the industry.

In addition to those files, Stordy led the development of an industry application for a pork promotion research agency while also leading government relations, which included frequent interaction with federal and provincial senior executives and elected officials in the area of trade policy and market development.

Previous to that engagement, he was the director of Pork NB Porc, on behalf of New Brunswick’s industry. He also spent five years working in policy development with the province of New Brunswick’s Department of Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fisheries and Department of Training and Employment Development.

Stordy is expected to take over the reins from David Jones who is retiring at the end of March 2023.
