The Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA) has 29 commodity specialists and discipline specialists with expertise in horticulture production systems, including a horticulture sustainability specialist. They provide expert advice related to a variety of agriculture production methods in Ontario. This work includes contributing to research, communication of best management practices and advice in response to emerging issues.

“At this time, the only horticulture-related vacancy we are recruiting for is the currently advertised horticulture sustainability specialist,” says Joanne Handley, manager-horticulture technology, OMAFRA.

“This is not a new position. We hope to have the position filled this spring.”

The successful applicant could be based out of either Vineland or Ridgetown OMAFRA offices.
