Effective December 1, 2025, Kroeker Farms CEO Wayne Rempel moves into the role of senior advisor, and COO Harwin Bouwman is appointed CEO. This appointment follows a thorough succession planning process, including an external evaluation confirming Harwin as the best candidate for the role.
Wayne Rempel joined Kroeker Farms in 1988 and became CEO in 2002. Throughout his tenure, he championed strategic investments in sustainability, organic production, and innovative farming practices that strengthened the company's resilience and market leadership. Under his guidance, Kroeker Farms expanded into one of Canada's leading producers of premium table potatoes, organic potatoes, hemp, and seed potatoes.
Incoming CEO Harwin Bouwman has served as COO, overseeing operations, agronomy, and strategic projects, including key facility expansions. His leadership is rooted in collaboration, continuous improvement, and a passion for helping people flourish in their work.
"I'm grateful for Wayne's mentorship and the confidence placed in me by the Board," Harwin said. "Our team is exceptional, and together we will continue building on a legacy of stewardship, innovation, and service to our customers and community."
As Wayne steps into his new role, Kroeker Farms continues to build on one of the values he championed most strongly: "Immer Besser," meaning "Always Better." This commitment to continuous improvement — in people, in stewardship, and in service — remains a defining part of the company's culture and will continue guiding the organization under Harwin's leadership.
