The United Potato Growers of Canada (UPGC) has hired a new general manager, Victoria Stamper. She brings a commodities distribution background to the organization with the principles of supply and demand, and profitability. She moves into the role on April 25, replacing the long-serving Kevin MacIsaac who has retired.

Bilingual, she has obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in marketing from the University of Guelph and studied at McGill University in the Bachelor of Arts, Psychology Program.

Her approach takes account of the large picture. She cites the fact that world events have a large effect on the membership needs of an organization such as United Potato Growers of Canada.

Ray Keenan, president, UPGC, says that Victoria Stamper’s commodity distribution background, coupled with her fluent presentation skills, brings a new dynamic to the organization. The United Potato Growers of Canada was formed in 2006, with membership from the east coast of Prince Edward Island to the west coast of British Columbia. Its mission is to create a more balanced supply of potatoes by providing accurate production and marketing information for Canadian potato growers.
