Update on the CanadaGAP Pollinator Health Addendum

.
.

The CanadaGAP Program is following up on the communiqué from August 16th regarding the launch of the CanadaGAP Addendum for Pollinator Health.

As a reminder, this addendum will be available for CanadaGAP program participants beginning April 1, 2025. The addendum has been approved by the IPM Institute of North America as meeting Walmart requirements for protection of pollinator heath.

The addendum is optional and will be available to program participants who need it to meet their customer requirements. It will be delivered by all CanadaGAP certification bodies, as an add-on checklist provided in conjunction with CanadaGAP on-site audits for certification options C and E.

Two additional documents are now available on the Pollinator Health page within the CanadaGAP website at www.canadagap.ca/audit-checklist/pollinator-health/.

  1. Component 6 of the CanadaGAP Program Management System Manual, which outlines the framework for delivery of this addendum by licensed certification bodies.

   2. The Addendum-specific CAR Form.

Finally, CanadaGAP has published a new PowerPoint presentation on the addendum (presented at the 2024 CanAgPlus AGM) as well as several FAQs to address the most pertinent questions for program participants who need this addendum. Anyone with questions is encouraged to review this information first, and if any questions are still unanswered, CanadaGAP remains available to respond to stakeholder questions at info@canadagap.ca, or by calling 613-829-4711.
