After collaborating with many industry experts, Bleu & Bon has inaugurated its new 50,000-square-foot berry processing factory located in the Hautes-Laurentides region of Québec. This major project represents an investment of $8 million and was made possible by partnering with Fruits Canadawide and Les Entreprises Pitre in December 2024.

Bleu & Bon has centralized the manufacturing of all its products under one roof and reinforced its mission: to offer Québec berries year-round. Complying with the most rigorous food standards and processes, this factory marks a crucial step in the company's growth and demonstrates its commitment to innovation and local production.

Technological innovations include: a bagging line for frozen fruit, a freezing room with a capacity of two million pounds of fruit, and two production lines for spreads, capable of producing nearly 1,000 cases per day. In addition, the company is the first in Canada to acquire an automatic destemmer that can process up to 1,000 pounds of strawberries per hour, drastically reducing destemming costs. The company imported a machine from Europe that automatically slices strawberries, enabling the company to now offer consumers frozen sliced strawberries, a product frequently requested by customers.

Bleu & Bon has also launched its turnkey co-packing service for companies looking for a reliable partner for the production and packaging of their products. The co-packing offer covers a wide range of needs, including dry, refrigerated, and frozen products, as well as bulk, liquid, and semi-liquid products.

Canadawide Fruits, a family business founded in 1983, is a major player as a wholesaler, importer, and distributor of fresh conventional and organic fruits and vegetables in Canada. For more information: https://canadawidefruits.com/.

Since 2016, Les Entreprises Pitre has been passionately cultivating a variety of berries on farmland nestled in the heart of the Hautes-Laurentides. Pitre is constantly innovating to offer high-quality berries, including strawberries and raspberries. By continually adopting responsible and efficient techniques, such as soilless tunnel cultivation, the company is able to produce millions of pounds of delicious small fruits annually. Bleu & Bon began in 2016 with the aim of selling wild blueberries from its family lands in Chaudière-Appalaches in supermarkets. Over the years, the company has evolved towards the processing and marketing of Québec small fruit products. Bleu & Bon now offers several frozen products and sweet spreads with maple syrup, made from wild blueberries, haskap berries, raspberries and strawberries.
