The Pest Management Regulatory Agency has approved an emergency use registration for Tough 600 EC herbicide for control of labelled weeds in carrots in numerous provinces in Canada.  The registration is from May 1 to December 31, 2022.

The enrollment deadline has been extended from April 30 to June 30, 2022 to allow farmers more time to sign up.

Kelly Ciceran has been elected as president of the popular horticultural convention held annually in Niagara Falls, Ontario. She is joined by vice-president Doug Darling.

Statistics Canada reports that 2021 greenhouse sales grew for the ninth consecutive year to a total of $2 billion. That’s up 9.3 per cent from the previous year.

A donation of $25,000 from the Ontario Fruit and Vegetable Growers’ Association will help reduce food waste and feed hungry families.
