The Canadian Grapevine Certified Network (CGCN-RCCV) is looking ahead to all of the new opportunities and initiatives taking place in 2023 and beyond writes chair Hans Buchler.
“Firstly, we are excited to announce that we will be holding another webinar series in 2023! This will be a three-part series with an overarching focus on viticulture and climate change. The first webinar will be held in late January 2023.”
CGCN-RCCV continues to prepare an application for the Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada AgriScience Cluster Program running 2023-2028. “As holders of the current Grape & Wine science cluster, members know the tremendous value that research brings to the industry on a national scale, and we look forward to continuing our role as facilitators of this important work,” says Buchler.
Lastly, the network has begun developing a new tool for grape growers and wineries for the website, called the Grapevine Variety and Clone Information Database. The goal of this database is to provide a platform where industry stakeholders can share knowledge and experience to help others make informed decisions about what they are planting.
“More information is available on how the database works and how you can contribute your expertise,” says Buchler. Follow the Twitter account @CGCN_RCCV or go to: www.cgcn-rccv.ca
