Lana Popham, MLA for Saanich South, has been rewarded for her enthusiastic embrace of all things local. British Columbia premier John Horgan announced his new NDP cabinet on November 26, keeping her in the role of minister of agriculture, food and fisheries. She’s held the position since 2017.

Before entering politics, she co-founded and operated Barking Dog Vineyard, the first certified organic vineyard on Vancouver Island.
