Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) has announced that LifeLabs is the new service provider of COVID-19 testing at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport.  The company took over the role of testing temporary foreign workers (TFWs) as of June 1, 2022.

Switch Health is no longer providing on-arrival testing, but will continue to operate under the Ontario provincial program for TFWs vaccinations and testing TFWs who develop COVID-19 symptoms during the working period.

For on-arrival testing, LifeLabs is collaborating with Switch Health, to ensure a smooth transition period. TFWs, who arrived prior to June 1 and received a Day 8 Switch Health testing kit will complete both their Day 1 and Day 8 testing process with Switch Health. Travelers arriving on or after June 1 will receive testing kits from LifeLabs.

LifeLabs has developed a resource sheet to assist in guiding TFWs and their employers through the arrival testing process. This document includes information regarding testing requirements, kit registration, appointment booking, and accessing test results, and will be made available shortly.

To support employers and TFWs, LifeLabs has a 24-hour contact line available seven days a week, along with a dedicated email address that is monitored from 7am to 11pm, seven days a week:

  • Call: 1-877-313-4982 (24/7).
    • Choose option 1 for FlyClear.
    • Follow the prompts for Ontario, then Temporary Foreign Workers.
