After 11 years of service, David Jones is retiring from the Canadian Potato Council in March 2023. A talent search is underway for his successor.

Industry leaders were applauded at the PEI Potato Board’s annual banquet on Nov 24, 2022, an event that had been postponed for two years due to the pandemic, Hurricane Fiona and potato wart crisis.

Rachael LeBlanc, research scientist, Vineland Research and Innovation Centre, has been honoured with the Science and Technology Award from the Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce, Women in Business Awards.

The Ontario Produce Marketing Association honoured a dozen individuals and organizations at the annual gala on November 18, 2022. One of the seven Produce Heroes was Jody Mott, executive director of the Holland Marsh Growers’ Association.

In celebration of its 10th anniversary, Farm & Food Care Ontario invited its platinum level sponsors to nominate Agri-Food Champions. The Ontario Fruit & Vegetable Growers’ Association picked Amanda Dooney, Suncrest Orchards, Simcoe, Ontario.
