For 60 years, the Seasonal Agricultural Worker Program (SAWP) has linked Ontario fruit and vegetable farms with workers from the Caribbean and Mexico, becoming a cornerstone of Canada's food system. To mark the program's 60th anniversary, the Ontario Fruit and Vegetable Growers' Association (OFVGA) is excited to collaborate with the Jamaican Liaison Service and the Jamaican Ministry of Labour and Social Services to tell that story in a new way.

Last summer, three workers were interviewed at their Ontario farm jobs about why they joined the SAWP, what their work means to them, and how it supports their families back home. Then, this past February 2026, these same workers were interviewed at their homes in Jamaica offering a fuller picture of the workers' lives and communities on both sides of the partnership. These interviews were turned into short videos, with the first one set to release on May 19, and the remaining two following in weekly increments.
