The Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) has informed horticultural stakeholders that most uses of imidacloprid will remain registered with new mitigation measures.

Several specific uses are being cancelled reports Chris Duyvelshoff, crop protection advisor, Ontario Fruit and Vegetable Growers’ Association.

Foliar applications are to be reduced to once per season for most crops.

Greenhouse use is acceptable provided there is a closed recirculation system.

More details will be released the week of May 17.
