Prince Edward Island’s premier has appointed third-generation dairy farmer Bloyce Thompson to a number of portfolios in a refreshed cabinet announced on April 14, 2023.

“This is an exciting opportunity as I’m honoured and humbled to serve as the Deputy Premier, Min of Agriculture, Min of Justice & Public Safety and Attorney General of Prince Edward Island,” tweeted Bloyce Thompson.

Bloyce Thompson was first elected as the MLA for Stanhope-Marshfield in the 2019 general election. In May 2019, he was named as Minister of Agriculture and Land and as Minister of Justice and Public Safety and Attorney General. In July 2022, Thompson was named Minister of Economic Growth, Tourism and Culture. He returns to those original portfolios, recognized as a steady hand of experience.
