The Canadian Grapevine Certified Network has hired its first executive director. She is Darien Temprile, who got her first taste as a summer student in 2019 as business, marketing and events coordinator for Grape Growers of Ontario. Since then, she’s completed her MBA from McMaster University. She also works part-time as project manager of Ontario Grape and Wine Research Inc.

Referring to her consumer-facing experience, she says that in the latter half of 2022, she worked as a retail sales and tasting associate at Kacaba Vineyards and Winery in Vineland, Ontario.

“I know the past couple of winters across Canada have been harsh on the vines, so I am excited to be rejoining the organization at a time where certified clean propagative grapevine material and continuous financial investments in R&D are a vital part in the advancement and sustainability of the industry,” says Temprile.
