Farmers’ Markets Ontario has honoured the Newmarket Farmers’ Market as Farmers’ Market of the Year.

The Ontario Fruit & Vegetable Growers’ Association presented its annual Award of Merit to Don Brubacher for his contributions to the potato industry.

The Ontario Fruit & Vegetable Growers’ Association re-elected potato grower Shawn Brenn as chair for another one-year term at its annual general meeting Feb. 20.

Three of the inductees -- Bert Andrews, Grant Howes and Verner Toews – have made significant contributions to the horticultural sector. The inductee ceremony will be held June 9, 2024.
