Richmond, BC potato and vegetable farmer Bill Zylmans was recognized for Excellence in Agriculture Leadership at the BC Agri-Food Industry Gala held virtually on March 30.
The Ontario Fruit & Vegetable Growers’ Association has elected an apple and blueberry grower to helm the horticultural group.
The Georgian Bay area grower is honoured for his lifelong commitment to apple growing. He and his wife Karen operate a high-density orchard near Clarksburg, Ontario.
The British Columbia Fruit Growers’ Association has elected Peter Simonsen as its new president. He’s been on the board since 2009.
