More than two-thirds of all paper generated by Ontario households is recycled through Ontario’s Blue Box program. Recovered paper fibres are used to produce new paper packaging products – i.e. boxes and cartons.

Growers of apples, cherries, grapes, raspberries, blueberries and hazelnuts in British Columbia are eligible for the new program, valued at $15M.

A new tool is available to Ontario pumpkin and squash growers to scout for pests and pollinator populations. Called SCOUT IPPM, it will be available for download on July 3, 2023.

Despite weather delays of about two weeks, British Columbia growers are optimistic about the 2023 season. Apples and cherries, comprising 90 per cent of the total tree fruit acreage, are looking good in the southern interior.
