Algoma Orchards Corporation has kicked off 2023 with the announcement that Eric Biddiscombe has joined the team as director of sales and business development.

“We are excited to have a produce industry leader of Eric’s caliber join our senior team at Algoma,” said Kirk Kemp, president of Algoma Orchards.  “Eric is very well respected on both the vendor and retail sides of the business with a very diverse leadership background in supply chain, process improvement, merchandising, procurement, QA, packaging and produce sales. Eric will play a pivotal role in building strategic goals with our retail and food service partners,” said Kemp.

Algoma Orchards is the largest independent apple grower and packer in Canada. Its farming roots go back four generations when the family started growing apples in the 1900s. Algoma Orchards started packing apples in 1964. Located in Newcastle Ontario, the business operates a 200,000 sq ft state-of-the-art packing and juice bottling facility. Hundreds of acres of leading apple varieties are grown in the local vicinity close to Lake Ontario.
