- Ontario’s $100 million processing vegetable sector is undergoing governance changes. The Ontario Farm Products Marketing Commission has appointed Suzanne Van Bommel chair of the board for a two-year term and announced four directors.
- As of August 1, Binkley Apples has been renamed Blue Mountain Fruit Company. The rebranding is part of the evolution of the Botden family’s business plan.
- On January 12 Empire announced that Michael Medline had been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Empire and its wholly owned subsidiary Sobeys. He will replace Marc Poulin who departed in July of 2016.
