The Fruit and Vegetable Growers of Canada has made five recommendations to support food security, economic growth and innovation.
- A cooler-than-usual spring followed by warm seasonal temperatures is bringing back a more traditional timeline for start of harvest: mid-July.
- Farm Credit Canada has built a free AI tool, partnering with Results Driven Agriculture Research.
- New questions have been added to the Census of Agriculture to reflect environmental practices and environmental sustainability. It will take place in May 2026.
- Industry is invited to a priority setting kick-off event in Niagara Falls on September 17, 2025. The agenda will include big-picture trends such as land use pressures, climate change, evolving technologies, labour and demographic shifts and more.
