Canadian growers have a new tool in the fight against fungicide resistance. ManageResistanceNow.ca has added fungicide best practice information to help growers minimize the development of resistance in their crops.
Growers from the Great Lakes and the Maritimes are invited to join a pest monitoring network. Specifically, growers of sweet corn and snap beans will benefit.
The manufacturers of Manzate Max have been granted registration of their product for control of fungi on apples, potatoes and vegetable crops. The fungicide, a liquid formulation, is targeted at a broad spectrum of key diseases.
Health Canada will be cancelling some uses and restricting others of three neonicotinoid pesticides. Changes are ahead for crops ranging from tree fruits to berries to cucurbit vegetables. All uses for orchard trees, for example, have been cancelled.
