Archer-Daniels-Midland Company has opened its new terminal with bulk storage capacity for a variety of macro and micronutrients than can be blended on site to meet unique crop nutrition needs of customers in the U.S. corn belt and western Canada.
- The second cohort of young Canadians has been named for an 18-month term. Colby Robertson, an Albertan working in the potato sector, is one of the diverse group.
- McDonald’s Canada and McCain Foods are partnering to encourage potato growers to improve soil health through regenerative farming practices. Applications open in August 2022 to 130 growers who farm 76,000 acres of potatoes.
- Sales of U.S harvesters and heavy-duty tractors gained in July 2022. However, year-to-date farm tractor unit sales are down 8.3 per cent in Canada, while harvesters are down 22.1 per cent, reversing the previous month’s improvement.
- It’s taken seven years, but finally the Canadian government has won access for BC cherries to enter South Korea. The timing is excellent for a pilot test for the 2022 harvest now underway.
