The Pest Management Regulatory Agency is seeking use information on the fungicide fluazinam registered in diverse horticultural crops ranging from apples to onions. To respond, the Fruit and Vegetable Growers of Canada is gathering grower input by November 2, 2022.
Canadian farmers continue to return empty ag-product containers used for pesticides at increasing rates. The 2021 statistics show that 77 per cent of empty 23L and smaller jugs were returned, up from 71 per cent in 2019.
The Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs has added another workshop in Lake Erie North Shore to inform growers about the threat of this invasive pest. It’s October 17, 2022 at 7 pm hosted at Pelee Island Winery, Kingsville.
The New York State Department of Agriculture discovered more than 100 adults of spotted lanternfly in the border city since early September. Ontario growers have the opportunity to learn more about this destructive pest in two workshops organized by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.
