Growers from the Great Lakes and the Maritimes are invited to join a pest monitoring network. Specifically, growers of sweet corn and snap beans will benefit.
- The manufacturers of Manzate Max have been granted registration of their product for control of fungi on apples, potatoes and vegetable crops. The fungicide, a liquid formulation, is targeted at a broad spectrum of key diseases.
- Garlic growers have another tool in their arsenal for weed control. Chateau herbicide is now registered for control of labeled weeds on garlic.
- Health Canada will be cancelling some uses and restricting others of three neonicotinoid pesticides. Changes are ahead for crops ranging from tree fruits to berries to cucurbit vegetables. All uses for orchard trees, for example, have been cancelled.
- The extended label on this foliar fungicide will assist growers in suppressing powdery mildew on field and greenhouse mint as well as greenhouse-grown lettuce.
