The British Columbia government is increasing funding for Okanagan apple growers with $2.5 million towards crop health, fruit production, apple marketing and skills training.

Rachael LeBlanc, research scientist, Vineland Research and Innovation Centre, has been honoured with the Science and Technology Award from the Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce, Women in Business Awards.

Three out of seven regional winners of the 2022 Canada’s Outstanding Young Farmers competition are from horticulture. Jenn and David VanDeVelde are representing Ontario at the national event held in Saskatoon Nov 23-27.

The Ontario Produce Marketing Association honoured a dozen individuals and organizations at the annual gala on November 18, 2022. One of the seven Produce Heroes was Jody Mott, executive director of the Holland Marsh Growers’ Association.
